Dr. May Thwin
Dr May Thwin is an Australian raised and trained General Surgeon with subspecialty interests in Endocrine and Breast Surgery, and Surgical Oncology.
Dr Thwin graduated from University of Adelaide (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) in 2009 and completed a Master of Clinical Science (Evidence Based Medicine) in 2015. She subsequently completed her Fellowship in General Surgery (Royal Australasian College of Surgeons). This was followed by an extensive period of subspecialty training, both locally in Sydney and abroad, including a 12 month Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at Oxford University Hospitals, one of the highest volume centres in the UK, and as Poche Fellow at the prestigious Melanoma Institute Australia.
She is pleased to offer scope of care for a variety of Endocrine Surgery conditions including Benign & Malignant Thyroid, Parathyroid, Adrenal; Benign & Malignant Breast Disease; Melanoma and Skin Cancer.
Dr Thwin has a strong commitment to surgical education and is a lecturer with the University of Sydney, as well as overseeing the training of surgical trainees, junior doctors and medical students. She has a long-standing interest in research and has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international conferences.
